CZ: Stejně jako planety, jejichž krajiny jsou výsledkem kolizí, explozí a nekonečných dopadů kosmického materiálu, i lidská duše naplňuje týž princip. Neustále se znovu a dokola přetváříme střety narušujícími hranice naší bytosti. Před dopadem meteoritu nás chrání atmosféra, jejíž ochrana však není bezpodmínečnou; uniknout pak zdá se není kam: přichází paralýza s vyděšenýma očima dokořán.
Není ale právě okamžik otřesu klíčovým momentem duše a její transformace? Nelze se pouze takto přiblížit svébytnosti, k níž lze spět pouze nekonečně krkolomným vývojem?
Narušování hranic, vědomí vlastní duše a moment střetu s vnějším světem je téma, které se mě v současné době niterně dotýká. Z východu i ze západu, z včerejška i zítřka dopadají meteority působící spoušť. Každý meteorit je však naštěstí – a snad i především – meteorem, úžasným jevem v atmosféře. Něčím, co dává naději, jako když se říká: „Padá hvězda, přej si něco.“ Jen málokterá srážka je fatální a není příležitostí. Naděje umírá jako poslední: jako meteorit vychládající v zemi, nad kterou nejprve zazářil jako padající hvězda.
EN: Just like planets, whose landscapes are the result of collisions, explosions and endless impacts of cosmic material, the human soul also fulfills the same principle. We are constantly reshaping ourselves again and again through collisions that disrupt the boundaries of our being. The atmosphere protects us from the impact of a meteorite, but its protection is not unconditional; then there seems to be no escape: paralysis sets in with wide-eyed terror. But isn’t the moment of shock the key moment of the soul and its transformation? Can’t we only approach the uniqueness that can only be achieved through endlessly breakneck development in this way? The disruption of boundaries, the awareness of one’s own soul and the moment of collision with the outside world is a topic that currently touches me deeply. From the east and the west, from yesterday and tomorrow, meteorites are falling, causing havoc. Fortunately, however – and perhaps above all – every meteorite is a meteor, an amazing phenomenon in the atmosphere. Something that gives hope, like the saying: "A shooting star, make a wish." Few collisions are fatal and are not opportunities. Hope dies last: like a meteorite cooling in the ground over which it first shone as a shooting star.

CZ: Martin Lukáč vyráží do New Yorku v roce 2024. Neutíká – hledá. Opouští komfortní pozici uznávaného umělce, jehož díla jsou součástí důležitých sbírek umění, a míří do prostředí, kde je „jen dalším malířem“. Big Apple se pro něj stává výzvou – přístavem, který nabízí možnost opustit zavedené vzorce a vydat se na cestu transformace. Při pohledu na Lukáčovu práci v NYC je jasné, že město, které nikdy nespí, je pro něj zdrojem neustálé energie a nečekaných setkání. V chaosu městských ulic, mezi nesčetnými vjemy, se rodí nová imaginace. V prostředí, kde se prolínají různé přístupy a umělecké výrazy, začíná být zřetelné, jak pulsující rytmus města vstupuje do jeho malířské palety. Každý nový obraz je reakcí na tento svět, který neustále klade nové otázky

He leaves the comfortable position of a recognized artist whose works are part of important art collections and heads to an environment where he is “just another painter”. The Big Apple becomes a challenge for him – a port that offers the opportunity to abandon established patterns and embark on a journey of transformation. Looking at Lukáč’s work in NYC, it is clear that the city that never sleeps is a source of constant energy and unexpected encounters for him. In the chaos of the city streets, among countless sensations, a new imagination is born. In an environment where different approaches and artistic expressions intersect, it becomes clear how the pulsating rhythm of the city enters his painting palette. Each new painting is a reaction to this world that constantly asks new questions.
